THURSDAY, JULY 15, 2010 ~ About Your Produce ~ Swiss Chard: Swiss Chard wilts quickly, so put it in cold water for at least 10 minutes or overnight to perk it up.  Swiss Chard is not only beautifully stunning but it is very versatile as well.  It is not a well known green, primarily because it does not keep well in supermarket settings.  Swiss Chard can be cooked in the same manner as spinach or eaten fresh in salads, stalk and all.  Below is a trick for reviving your wilted greens should it occur.  Pictures courtesy of Farm Fresh to You.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 14, 2010 ~ Today's CSA deliveries included fresh peaches.  You should store peaches in one layer on the counter at room temperature until they are the ripeness you prefer. Your peaches should be ripened at room temperature to allow the flavor to develop properly.

When ripe, peaches should be eaten or used.  You may store your peaches in the crisper bin of your refrigerator and they will keep for up to five days, however they will loose some of their flavor when kept cold.  CLICK HERE for some wonderful peach recipes, including Peach Cobbler, Salsa, Dumplings, and Jam.
